Introduction to the Structure of Chinese Characters

Many students find it hard to write Chinese characters. Learning some basic knowledge about them can help a lot.
First, you need to know all the strokes; then the structures. Here we will focus on the structures.
Every well-written Chinese character should be able to fit nicely into a square. Look at the characters on the left.
Some characters cannot be divided into smaller parts. They are single-structured characters.
e.g. 天 玄 日 月 生
Some characters can be divided into two or more parts. They are compound-structured characters.
e.g. 地 宇 宙 洪 荒
